Just noticed your posts about former Super Kmarts, and I will note that the Super Kmart in Portage, IN(in the Northwest Indiana subregion of Chicago) is slated to close in the current round of 80 stores that Sears Holdings is closing.

The Super Kmarts in Indianapolis on Madison Ave and East Washington Streets are closing in December of 2014.
ReplyDeleteThere is some additional dead and dying retail history in the picture of the East Washington St. Super Kmart. That storage facility to the right of the Kmart was a Venture store that closed in the late 90s.

ReplyDeleteThe converted Kmart on 4651 South US Highway 41 in Terre Haute, Indiana is closing forever in mid-April 2016 after more than 40 years of serving the Terre Haute, Indiana customers' department shopping needs.
